What Used to Be...

I used to spend so much time writing for my blog. It used to be fun. What happened to those days? Oh. Yeah. I also used to have a computer at my house, and now I don't. *That's* what happened to those days.

I want to post a photo. I'm going to go find one...
ch. Now, why did it post up there? I wanted it in the middle. Oh well.
Those are the Chipotle Girls. Woo hoo!! Ginny, Holly, me, Tess and Brittany. Good times in CO, man. ::sigh:: I had so much fun that weekend. For the first time in my life I actually saw a ski shop. Being as how I'm an Oklahoman, I had never seen one before. And it was weird. 'Cause it was the middle of summer. I can't wait to go back in December!

Awesome Beauty

How can someone see a sight like this -->
and declare that there can be no God?
This is a photo from the top of Mt. Evans (an over 14,000 ft mountain) in the Rockies.
No can camera can really capture the granduer and beauty of these amazing mountains.
It would be like trying to capture the first breath of a newborn baby on film...there's no way....

Chocolate Rain

Chocolate dripping down a wall
Reminds me of your smile
I see it almost every day
And I stare at it awhile
It speaks about your innocence
Your love of fun and life
The remnants of an ice cream war
The one you started that night
Now you're off in some new place
And I'm here missing you
I'm staring at the Chocolate Rain
...I wish you could see it too

Little Lizzie!!! I miss you...

Upfh!!!

Restless!!! *YOU* weren't supposed to be on here! Where did you come from, anyway? You haven't read this thing in.....months!!! Years, even!!!

::laughs::: Geez, I get on to post something else and there's some post I've never seen before!!

Well...at least you had the element of surprise, even if your post did lack a certain...creative flow.

ha. ha.

Eat a bug.

Or two.

I'm thinking about copying down a transcript of a conversation I had with three guys last night. What do you think about, RN? It would be verbatim, of course. Any objections to it???

Okay, forget Restless....

Brian Regan is hilarious.

The Red M&M is out there.

My apartment is empty.

...that's sad.

I'm moving tomorrow.

....that's cool.

I'm hungry. I should eat. ....Maybe I'll eat some Cappucino Chunky Vanilla ice cream...and THEN work out at the "Y" ALL NEXT WEEK to burn it off....

Okay, gotta run!

Hello

Hello everyone. I just wanted to make a post stating that this is the best blog I have ever seen. It has class, elegance, humor, and depth, all rolled into one.
It is a Blog site Par Excellance.

It is bested by none - except, perhaps, by my own blog... a site which shall remain nameless.

You peons are not worthy to view it! Eat my typings, insignificat swine!

HAHAHAHAHahaHAHAhahaAHA!

Wow...Cool...Finally...

I am willing to bet money that nobody reads this poor little Blog anymore. But that's okay. I'm going to write on it anyway.

This whole Beta Blogger thingy totally messed up my account and I couldn't figure out how to work it. But NOW I know and I'm quite happy about it.

I am not, however, happy about my sister leaving me for a year. ::sigh:: Little Lizzie!!! Come back!!!! I miss you!!!! It's only been three days....I can't take a year!!!!!!!!!!

Darn it. I don't think she can hear me.

Oh well. I'll just go to Lawton tonight. With Marcy and Mary, of course. ...yeah...Mary, who kept waking my up all night just because her car died at two in the morning. ::laughs:: Mary, that new song by Kenny is definitely perfect for you.

Okay. I'm finished with the whole "practice post." Good bye little bloggie.....

Power of Prayer

The past two weeks have been long, stressful, scary and amazingly amazing.

I don't have time to explain everything, but on Feb. 7th my dad was taken into emergency open-heart surgery. He made it through the surgery okay (although it had been touch and go for a while) and then through a second surgery to stop some uncontrolled bleeding. He was in critical condition for the next two days and then Friday evening he had a clot in the artery leading to his lungs.

A Code Blue was called on him around 5:15 that evening and the team worked on him for about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. When the doctor finally came out she told us my dad was alive but that his chance of surviving was about 2-3%. (Understand that means 97-98% chance of dying.) The doctor said the big question was whether my dad would even wake up again. "It's a minute to minute thing," she said. And even if he did wake up he could have severe brain damage due to the fact that his brain had been without oxygen during the 3 times she had performed CPR on him for 10-15 minutes each time--we would just have to wait and see.

All we could do was pray and ask others to pray. The response we got was overwhelming. It seemed like every minute we were getting another phone call from someone saying that they had contacted a few people and then *they* had contacted a few people and so on and so on. The result of the power of prayer has never been more apparent to me. Why?

It's been 11 days since the Code Blue and my dad is alive--not only alive, but with no sign (so far) of brain damage. He was moved out of ICU three days ago and should be moved out of CCU (Cardiac Care Unit) in a couple more days.

Was this a miracle?

The doctors and nurses think so.

Oklahoma, Kansas, Ireland

(Cool. I get to post in different fonts and colors now.)

Once upon a time there was a girl. She used to live in Oklahoma. But she moved to Kansas. There she began a story. She wrote it one chapter at a time. And never, ever finished it. And it made her friend cry. Because her friend loved it. But it was never completed. Because the girl enjoyed making her friend cry. And an Irishman read it as well. And he loved it. But he never said he did because he was just like that. Instead he said he hated it. But he really loved it. Because he always loved a good Blog story. And Ireland was a better place after that. But Kansas wasn't. And neither was Oklahoma.

The End.

Life in OKC

Confirmations are tonight. I'm not sure how many Confirmandi there are all together, but I think it's a good sized group. Both my Uncle Mark and my cousin Mason are being confirmed. That's going to be cool to see.
Oh, Ian's being confirmed also. (He's one of "my kids" from my job.) His Confirmation saint is Francis of Assisi...big shock there. (Ian is crazy about animals.)

Life in my apartment is going well. Kelly and Mary and I haven't even gotten into one fight--even though we were all stuck in our apt. for FOUR DAYS during the ice storm. I'm proud of us.
Anyway, it's lots of fun living with my sisters. Last night Mary and I were bored half-to-death as we sat on the couches watching TV, so I forced her to play Scrabble with me instead. I totally beat her!!! It was awesome! ::laughs:: I almost never lose at that game.... ;D

I'm thinking I might post a short (and I stress "short") story on this blog. It's been awhile since I've done that. I know hardly anyone reads it anymore, but maybe I'll do it anyway. Maybe I'll write it for you, John and Shelley, since y'all are still my faithful readers!! (But, Shelley, I'll probably have someone KILL YOU!!!! since you don't know how to keep my alive in your stories....! ;p)

Aaawww...Carrie is out in the livingroom with the kids teaching them how to sing! Ian, Caitlin and Kolbe are singing "The Ants Go Marching"....aaaaaawww...that's so sweet. Well, I'm going to go look at them.

Ireland--Land of Insanity

This post has nothing to do with Ireland.

John just made me think of it.

Well, actually, maybe it will.

John...I do wish you would desribe what it is like to live in a foreign country and to speak with a foreign accent. Is it difficult?

Let us know. We are awaiting your witty comments.

2007

Happy New Year!

Well, last year was not a disappointment when it came to the Interesting Factor. Something was always going on, it seemed. I did a lot of things I thought I'd never do. I heard a lot of (true) stories I never thought I'd hear. And I said one thing I never thought I'd say.

Oh...wait...that was last night! It was in the new year! ::laughs:: Oh...well...great way to begin!

Once again, I must say it:

What will this year bring?

I hope it is interesting and amusing and challenging....but just a wee bit less stressful. For everyone. EVERYbody has stress in their life....maybe we make too much of it.

Happy New Year to Sister Christa--even though she won't ever read this--we miss you!
