Chartres Pilgrims

Well, they're off.

Almost, anyway.

Mary, Beth, Kevin and Ginny are in leaving in a little bit for Dallas. Their flight leaves from there tomorrow morning, and they will--eventually--end up in Paris on Thursday morning around 9:00am. Dan is already over there...somewhere. He'll meet them in Paris.

Make sure y'all keep them in your prayers. The Chartres Pilgrimage is incredibly, amazingly awesome, but it's also extremely difficult.

They will be walking the Pilgrimage this coming Saturday, Sunday and Monday, so be sure to pray on those days.

After the Walk, they'll be hanging out in Ireland; celebrating Ginny's birthday (the 6th) then Dan's birthday (the 10th), and they'll be meeting up with our dear John Briody at some point. John, do let us know how that goes. ::grins::

Mary, Beth, Dan, Kevin and Ginny;

My prayers are with you guys. I hope the Walk impacts your life as much as it did mine.

See you in ten years. ::winks::

I hope th’all (Oklahomian?) arrived safely.
Of course they are keeping the best wine till last i.e. Ireland.
Perhaps if the pilgrims jumped all at once, France would sink.
Yes, a jump with every Hail Mary.

Yes, I hope to meet them on Saturday 10th, in Galway.
I shall look forward to it.
Perhaps, I’ll keep a few of them if I like them and bring ‘em home to show Mummy.

The good news is that only the cream of the crop is left to write on the blogs.
Let’s do something interesting.
Tracy, have an agony aunt post where the general public can submit problems and you solve them.
Good that’s settled.

My first Tracy question:

Dear Tracy,
I phoned a young lady some days back so that she could hear the sound of my voice. After a few lines of simple conversation she ran away from the phone into a shop giggling.
Does she have the hots for me or not?

Dear Tracy,
Do you think I should have my front two teeth surgically straightened or are they not quite crooked enough for that?

I don't think I'm made for this life's pains.

Okay, so it wasn't really a question, but answer it anyway.

Would that I was getting ordained in Nebraska on Saturday.
If the Frats had remained faithful to the arrangement they made before I entered, I would.
It was all going so well until Fr. X left his boots at Lazlo’s bar, and Fr. Y ran off to Alaska leaving all transfer sems to bear the punishment of prolonged captivity.
Would that the light at the end of the tunnel had not disappeared and that despair had not become my assailant.
Would that men were not so fickle.

Feeling on the subject need not be chronicled.
They have nothing to do with the question.

Christa,
Why don;t you come to Ireland and meet me too?

Disciple said...

Tracy,
Awake now and speak to us.

Disciple said...

Foreigners are all the same i.e. different.

What’s a my space?

Disciple said...

Am I going to call Christa on the 10th?
A number might be helpful.
If I were getting ordained, I would probably have met you at the ordinations.
Perhaps I could return to seminary at 37 and work in a shop afterwards.
Anyhow, I must shampoo two mats for Mummy.
It’s an excellent sunny day for a change- the kind of day one would like to be ordained in.

Is the amount of money and your happiness linked?
Tell us more about that Mason.

I awoke this morning with the anticipation of celebrating Mass.
But then I remembered that I wasn’t ordained yesterday after all.
So I didn’t.

Today was such a fine day that it almost reached 20 degrees Celsius.
Hot.
But tomorrow is going to be even nicer.
It reminds me of 1995- the last really nice summer.
One always feels like eating salad on a hot day but with a dessert so that one is adequately filled.

I watched March of the Penguins last night.
It was a good watch but not terribly uplifting.
Why must penguins endure such hardship and suffering, all for nothing?
Evil people deserve to suffer but not animals and good people.

The bad news is that I couldn’t get any accommodation in Galway near the city centre so as to meet the plastic paddies when they arrive.
I’ll have to try harder tomorrow.
Peak season, you see.

Give me the money instead.
You will always have cancer victims but you will not always have me!

You won’t be able to give me your money.
