"So Happy, Mr. Bradley."

Does anyone know where the above written quote comes from?

(Restless, don't give the answer away. I know you know it.)

I know. can I say what it's from?

::laughs:: I wondered who would be the first to Google it!

Marcy, go for it! Christa cheated anyway.

Audrey Hepburn said it to Gregory Peck at the end of the movie "Roman Holiday".

::reflects on years past::

I can't believe how much a single line from an old movie like that can effect someone's life.

Actually--it wasn't really the line that made the difference. It was the comment made by someone I know about the line that stayed with me. Hm. God definitely works in mysterious ways.

And what was the comment with the penetrating insight? Share! Share! The rest of us would like to benefit too.

Let me guess.
The person said there is no such thing as happiness?
The person said that happiness is obscurity?

If you told us the answer we mightn’t be happy with it after so much suspense.
Perhaps this is as happy as we’re going to get with this post.

No, John. Sorry, but you are way off, you silly Irishman.

It was a comment Mrs. Nolan made almost 10 years ago. As we were watching the movie 'Roman Holiday', and it came to the part where the princess says 'So happy, Mr. Bradley', Mrs. Nolan said--in a tone slightly tinged with awe--"The strength she had to do that...that took a lot of courage."

I think you had to be there. And you had to be me.

It was a valuable lesson, and I'll never forget it.

::laughs:: That is actually the reason 'Roman Holiday' is one of my favorite movies even now.

I was right!

Mrs. Nolan told me something about suffering one time.
I’ve been trying to forget it ever since!

I said *almost* ten years.

So...more like nine.

'Cause I was 12 when she said it.

::laughs:: John....
